Welcome to the studio

At Yoga Under Construction we want everyone to feel welcome and to take part in classes with attention and joy.

To make sure the studio stays a pleasant, calm and welcoming place for everyone, we have drawn up a number of house rules and agreements. They help us take each other into account and make sure everything in and around the classes runs as smoothly as possible.

Whether you have been coming for years or have just started: please take a moment to read our house rules. Together we make sure everyone can come to the studio with a good feeling and fully enjoy a moment for themselves.

1. Attendance and arriving on time

Preferably arrive at the studio 10 minutes before the class starts. That gives you enough time to prepare calmly.

The front door may be closed once the class has started. If you are late, you may therefore not be able to get in. This is to protect the calm and safety of the group.

Unexpectedly unable to arrive on time? If possible, contact us beforehand.

2. Booking and cancelling

You book classes via the YogiBit app. Each class costs 1 credit.

Can't make a class you booked? Cancel your booking via the app as soon as possible. You can cancel free of charge up to one hour before the class starts and your credit will be returned.

If you cancel within one hour of the start or do not show up, the credit is in principle not returned.

Want to join a class you have not booked, or are you still on the waiting list? You can only take part if there is still room.

3. Safety, injuries and personal responsibility

Listen carefully to your body during class and respect your own limits. Yoga and Pilates are not a competition. A pose does not need to be deeper or more intense to be effective.

Inform the teacher before class about injuries, physical complaints, pregnancy or other circumstances that need to be taken into account.

The teacher can adapt exercises or offer an alternative, but you always remain responsible for indicating your limits and making choices during class.

Stop an exercise if it causes pain or discomfort, and ask the teacher for advice if in doubt.

4. Calm and respect

We think it is important that everyone feels welcome and at ease.

Respect each other, the teacher and the space. Keep conversations before and after class calm and quiet in the group room. During class we ask you to limit unnecessary talking, so everyone can concentrate.

Give each other enough space and respect other people's personal boundaries. Discriminatory, intimidating or unwanted behaviour is not accepted.

5. Phone and smartwatch

Put your phone on silent before class and preferably leave it in the locker.

During class we ask you not to use your phone or smartwatch. If this is necessary because of an urgent situation, let the teacher know before class.

Taking photos, videos or audio recordings during a class is only allowed with prior permission from the teacher and the participants present.

6. Use of materials

Various materials are available in the studio, such as yoga mats, blocks, straps and blankets.

Handle the materials with care and put them back neatly in their place after use.

Only use materials for their intended purpose and let us know if something is damaged or broken.

7. Hygiene

Wear clean and comfortable clothing during classes.

If you use a yoga mat or other studio materials, clean and tidy them after use according to the instructions in the studio.

The studio blankets are meant for relaxation and as support during exercises. They are not meant to be used as a surface to practise on. If you want a soft or extra hygienic surface, bring your own towel or sheet to lay over the mat.

8. Personal belongings

Leave valuables at home as much as possible. Yoga Under Construction is not liable for loss, theft or damage of personal belongings left in or around the studio.

Found items are kept for 30 days. Lost something? Ask at the studio as soon as possible. After 30 days, unclaimed items are donated to charity.

9. A pleasant space for everyone

Yoga Under Construction is a place where you can move, relax and take some time for yourself. By paying attention to each other and following these agreements, together we create a safe and pleasant environment.

Do you have questions, comments or suggestions about the house rules? Feel free to talk to us.
